WORLD NEWS: EAMON SULLIVAN ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED IN SCOOTER ACCIDENT, INJURING TWO

GAWLER, Australia, RENANG INDONESIA, November 27. THOUGH sources are offering different versions of the story, Australian media is reporting today that Olympian Eamon Sullivan had a role in a motor scooter accident last week that injured two people.

Sullivan, a former world record holder in the 50 and 100 freestyles, was attending a bachelor party in South Australia for a friend and requested to borrow a motor scooter at the party, according to an article in The Australian. No one disputes that Sullivan borrowed the scooter for a joyride with another partygoer, but what happened later is where stories deviate.

Australian TV station Nine Network reported that Sullivan, 27, drove the scooter on the sidewalk and crashed into a table, injuring two people. Police reports list a 27-year-old male as being responsible, but do not say if it was Sullivan or the other unknown rider. That male was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of assault.

Sullivan's PR team said no charges have been filed against Sullivan, adding that there is "no evidence that Eamon was the party responsible for any such accident." (swimmingworld)
